Design Services
Taking clients on a colour and design adventure is a creative and rewarding process.
The results are different every time as no two people are the same and this is what makes my job so enjoyable, enabling your surrounding environment to be unique to you.
Getting professional interior design advice will help to bring clarity to your project, giving you confidence in your decisions and saving you money and time.
I work to a design process that follows the RIBA stages listed below. If you would like more information about my interior design services, please contact me to get started.
Interior Design Service
1) Stage 0 – No obligation consultation
A visit to your home to discuss your project brief in general with you, assessing the space and getting a good idea of what it is you require. After agreeing to proceed, you will be provided with a written proposal and structure of fees.
2) Stage 1 – Taking the Brief
Exploring the project brief further and establishing budgets is next. Getting to know what it is you like, or really dislike through any means preferred; Conversations, Pinterest boards, magazine cut outs, this is the point at which to get it all on the table.
3) Stage 2 – Concept Design
This stage entails developing the design concept and layouts. This is where clients get a feel of what’s to come through colour and mood boards, physical models (where appropriate), and drawings based on research conducted in relation to the brief. Providing a visual flavour to get excited about is one of the most inspiring parts of the process, and making sure your design stays within your preferred expenditure is a top priority.
4) Stage 3 – Developed Design
Once the design concept is approved, developing it then commences through sourcing of samples for finishes and materials, furniture and furnishing boards, furniture layouts, 3D sketch models (where appropriate), and lighting recommendations.
5) Stage 4 – Technical Design
Should they be required, technical drawings can be supplied for internal plans, sections and elevations.
6) Stage 5 – Construction
Onsite visits and meetings to monitor progress whilst the project is underway is part of this stage.
7) Additional Services
If desired, I will handle the purchase and delivery of fixtures and furnishings and can also provide final styling advice on completion of a project.
